From hand-peeled crawfish boils to slow-simmered gumbo that carries the soul of the bayou — J & P Bayous Crawdaddys brings authentic Louisiana flavor to the heart of North Mississippi.
J & P Bayous Crawdaddys was born from a simple belief: that the flavors of Louisiana shouldn't stay locked in the swamp. Founded by J and P, two locals who grew up around cast-iron pots and Friday night boils, our kitchen is where bayou tradition meets Southern hospitality.
Every dish starts with intention. Our roux is stirred until it reaches that deep mahogany color. Our spices are blended in-house. And our crawfish? Sourced fresh, prepared daily, and never rushed.
Our signature event. Live crawfish steamed to perfection with corn on the cob, red potatoes, and andouille sausage — loaded onto a table covered in newspaper, drenched in our secret spice blend.
Four hours of patience in every pot. Our chicken and andouille gumbo starts with a roux stirred to deep chocolate, loaded with the Holy Trinity, and finished with a touch of okra for that perfect silkiness.
Smoky andouille, tender shrimp, and long-grain rice cooked in a rich stock infused with cayenne, thyme, and bay leaf. Served with a side of our house hot sauce for those who want the heat.
Miracle-style redfish — pan-seared until golden, then finished in a buttery lemon-caper sauce with a medley of bell peppers, celery, and onions. A Louisiana coast classic done right.
Mississippi river catfish, coated in our cornmeal-spice blend and fried to a golden crunch. Served with hushpuppies, coleslaw, and tartar sauce — simple, satisfying, and deeply Southern.
Finish right with square beignets dusted thick with powdered sugar, served alongside a cup of café au lait made with chicory. The perfect end to a perfect bayou meal.
"The crawfish boil was the real deal — I grew up in Lafayette and this hit every note. The spice blend, the corn, the potatoes… it transported me right back to a Saturday night at the bayou."
"We hosted our family reunion here and the team went above and beyond. The gumbo is still haunting my dreams — in the best possible way. Everyone at our table asked for the recipe."
"Finally, a spot in North MS that takes Cajun food seriously. The redfish was perfectly seared, the ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the staff treats you like family from the moment you walk in."
